A Winter Hike will be held on Sunday, Jan. 11 beginning at 1 p.m. at the Lake Katharine State Nature Preserve public parking lot. The theme of this hike will be “Winter Woods.” Naturalists will lead this hike and educate participants on the subtle and fascinating changes that take place in the forest in deep winter. Suffice to say, the woods are alive and well, and there could even be very early signs of the promise of spring. This is a free hike and open to all. It will take place on the established trails, but the group will stop often for observations and some historical information.
