The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Jackson and Vinton Counties. The advisory is in effect from 6-10 a.m. tomorrow morning – Tuesday, Nov. 18. Meteorologists are expecting freezing rain with total ice accumulations around a light glaze. Impacts: very slippery sidewalks, roadways, and bridges are possible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. A brief period of freezing rain is expected prior to switching over to all rain. Areas typically subject to cold air drainage are expected to experience the longest duration of freezing rain. Slow down and use caution while traveling.
