The Wellston Lions Club will hold its annual Christmas Parade on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 3.
The parade lineup will be at the old High School lot beginning at 12:30 p.m. The parade route will travel from north on South Pennsylvania Avenue to 2nd Street, then to Ohio Avenue to Broadway Street and ending at the Wellston City Building, where Santa will greet youngsters, who will receive a treat and have their pictures taken.
On Monday, Dec. 5, Santa will begin his nightly trips through the area. Watch the Wellston Lion’s Club Santa Float Facebook page for updates concerning the area he will be traveling to each night.
If you have any questions about these events, contact Teresa Ponn-Lemaster at 740-418-5335.
The Lions Club has invited decorated and undecorated Jeeps to ride in the Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 1 p.m. Participants are asked that each Jeep brings a $20 unwrapped toy or $20 to donate. If you would like to donate but can’t make the parade, you can drop toys off at the Goal Line in Wellston. A prize or recognition may be offered for the Best Christmas-Decorated Jeep. Please line up at the Goal Line on the side street.
All are asked to please share this information and get the word out so that toys can be collected for Santa. These items will be donated to the Wellston Fire Department’s Christmas program. If you would like to donate a toy, please call Tina at 740-395-7995 and a representative will pick it up.
