Robert Matthews “Bob” Dixon, age 77, of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 4, 2026, at his home. He was born June 22, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late Roy E. Dixon and Glenna J. Matthews Dixon.
Bob graduated in 1967 from Bellville West High School in Bellview, Illinois and later received an associate’s degree in business from Allegheny Community College in Pittsburg. He served his country in the United States Army from 1968-1971 during the Vietnam Conflict. Bob retired from the steel industry in Pittsburg.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara Dixon Mueller; brothers: Larry Dixon (Debbie Scharfenberger Dixon) and Terry Dixon; all of Illinois. He was “Uncle Bob” to five nieces and nephews, two great-nieces and great-nephews, and one great-great nephew. Bob is also survived by Jerice Eckels and her daughters: Jillian, Jessica, Ember and Rayna. Bob’s Pittsburg family are Larry and Valerie Draeger and their children: Mike and Andrea.
Calling hours will be Saturday, January 10, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. A service to celebrate Bob’s life will follow the calling hours at 12:30 p.m. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
