Olivia “Liv” Montgomery

OLIVIA (LIV) MONTGOMERY

While surrounded by her loved ones, Olivia Danielle “Liv” Montgomery, age 17, of Wellston, went to be with Jesus on Monday, May 6, 2024, following a courageous battle with cancer for the last 5 years.

She was born October 19, 2006, in Chillicothe, Ohio to Brent Daniel Montgomery and Tisha Danielle Jenkins Montgomery.

Liv was a Junior at Wellston High School where she was a member of the Wellston Golden Rocket Marching Band, National Honor Society and the W.H.S. Golf Team, having lettered with Academic Team Coach. This past fall, she was voted Junior Class Homecoming Attendant and was recently named the Junior Class Prom Princess.

Liv was a member of the Too Hot to Trot 4-H club and the Canine Clovers 4-H Club. She enjoyed showing horses at the Jackson County Fair and the Ohio State Fair and received many awards, including taking 3rd place at the Ohio State Fair.  She also enjoyed showing dogs and had the honor of taking the championship title at the Ohio State Fair.

Liv enjoyed binge watching the Rocky Balboa series. Her favorite movie was “Walk. Ride. Rodeo.” and she had the pleasure of meeting and having her picture taken with Amberly Snyder, the person whose life that movie was about.  Liv was a member of both Family of God Community Church and Zion #3 Church.  She was a faithful Christian who loved going to church every time the doors were open and took advantage of every opportunity to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Liv has left a wonderful testimony with her strong faith and courage, and everyone could see God in her.  She was a “people person” with a strong-willed personality and always enjoyed meeting new people. Liv loved her family and friends and cherished the time spent with them.

She is survived by her parents, Brent and Tisha Montgomery; sisters, Bailee, Piper, and Hadley; grandparents, Jack and Lora Jenkins and Dan and Debra Montgomery; adopted sisters in the family, Katie, Kortnie, Bree-Anna, Jazmin, and Megan; along with several special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and including special friends: Josie, Jacob, Paige, Gracie and Madison.
