Ohio Valley Bank (OVB) of Jackson spread some “holiday cheer” to several local organizations, thanks to contributions from its employees.

On Monday, Dec. 16, several local organizations, or charities, gathered at Jackson’s OVB office where they received financial donations thanks to OVB’s Employee Community Fund. The fund was created in 1985. Since then, the fund has provided money for local charities or organizations. Employees contribute to this fund in many ways. One such way is by paying to dress casually on Fridays.

OVB Assistant Vice President and Jackson County Regional Manager Joe Wyant told The Telegram that this year, OVB was proud to share $1,620 with 17 local charities or organizations. The amount collected was the same as the amount collected in 2023.

Those organizations or charities which received funds were: Jackson Food Program and Clothesline, Buckeye Community Services, Edgewood Manor of Wellston, Four Winds Community, Buckeye Forest of Jackson, Holzer Hospice, Jackson County Job and Family Services, Jenkins Care Community, Jackson County Gear Grinders, Jackson County Heart Support Group, The United Fund of Jackson County, Fraternal Order of Police’s (FOP’s) Shop with a Cop, Hope Haven, Jackson County Board on Aging, My Brother’s Place in Wellston, Oak Hill Food Pantry and Jackson Area Festival and Events (JAFE) Food Giveaways/Christmas projects.

Wyant thanked everyone in attendance for all they do in Jackson County. He also offered the opportunity for the organization’s representatives to introduce themselves. Since 1985, the Employee Community Fund has raised over $417,933 across the OVB banking community.
