Local and live election coverage planned for Tuesday nightFree Access

Tuesday is Election Day, and The Radio stands ready to report the unofficial results to the listening public on Tuesday night with a live broadcast.

The Telegram news team of Pete Wilson, Jeremiah Shaver, and Red Thompson, Jr. will provide the coverage from both Jackson County and Vinton County with the coverage starting on WKOV (96.7 FM) at 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening, just 30 minutes after the polls close. Reports will be broadcast continuously every 15 minutes – at 8:15 p.m., 8:30 p.m., 8:45 p.m., and so on – until all the local votes have been counted and reported. The coverage will also be livestreamed on The Telegram’s Facebook page and Jeremiah Shaver’s News Personality Facebook page, then posted on the Total Media’s YouTube Channel the next day.

The coverage will focus on local results from Jackson County and Vinton County, which will be reported as soon as they are received from elections officials. The Nov. 4  General Election involves many school board, city, village, and township candidates and issues.

Also, The Telegram will be posting initial stories on the local election results on its website at www.thetelegramnews.com late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, Nov. 5. More extensive coverage will appear in Saturday’s (Nov. 8) print edition of The Telegram. The early print deadline for

Wednesday’s edition does not allow for any post-election coverage in Wednesday’s (Nov. 5) print edition.
