James Clyde “Jaime” Jones III


James Clyde “Jaime” Jones III passed away May 15, 2023, at his home in Chicago, Illinois. He was born March 24, 1949, at the old Holzer Hospital, in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late Thelma M. (Staton) Jones and the late James Clyde Jones, Jr.

Jaime grew up in Oak Hill, Ohio, where he attended public school, graduating from Oak Hill High School in 1967. He worked a paper route for several years, played the trumpet in the high school band, and played guitar in a rock band, The Fifth Amendment, with some of his friends. With multiple generations of his family, Jaime attended St. Paul (United) Methodist Church, where he occasionally played the organ and piano at services. After high school, Jaime attended The Ohio State University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. After college, he worked for a few different companies, including Hobart Corporation in Troy, Ohio; General Electric in Pittsfield, Massachusetts; and IITRI in Chicago.

Jaime is survived by his four siblings: Paul and Tony, of Columbus, Ohio and Kevin and Linda, of Oak Hill, Ohio; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023, from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 1 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Burial will immediately follow at C.M. Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
