Jackson County Sheriff’s Office announces Administrative Office holiday closuresFree Access

Due to the upcoming holidays, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office’s Administrative Office, which provides background checks (local, BCI and FBI), Conceal/Carry Permits and which completes public records requests has announced upcoming closures and restricted availability.

To ensure that someone is available to complete background checks and conceal/carry permits, it is suggested that that you schedule an appointment during this time. Please call 740-286-6464 or email [email protected] to schedule an appointment.

Closures/Appointment Days

Thursday, Nov. 24 – Friday, Nov. 25: Closed for Thanksgiving

Wednesday, Dec. 7: Appointments Only – 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., Closed 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Monday, Dec. 26 – Friday, Dec. 30: Closed for Christmas. Appointments will be available for Wednesday, Dec. 28, Thursday, Dec. 29 and Friday, Dec. 30 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Call ahead for availability.

Monday, Jan. 2: Closed.

Tuesday, Jan. 3: Return to regular business hours – 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday.

The lobby will remain open 24 hours a day for the unwanted prescription pills bin or if you need to contact a deputy to file a report.
