Jackson County second-half real estate tax bills due Friday, July 25Free Access

Lee Hubbard, Jackson County Treasurer, is reminding taxpayers that July 25, 2025, is the final date to pay the second half of issued real estate taxes. Any payments made after July 25, 2025, will be subject to a penalty for late payment.

Payments that are mailed must be postmarked no later than July 25, 2025, in order to be considered paid on time. Payments bearing a postmark after that date will be subject to a penalty for late payment. Ohio law requires late penalties to be charged even if no bill was received.

The County Treasurer’s office will be open to accept payments Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Taxpayers can now use credit or debit cards to pay their taxes at the County Treasurer’s office. There is a 2.5 percent convenience fee to pay using cards. Payments can be mailed to: Lee Hubbard, Jackson County Treasurer, P.O. Box 980, Jackson, Ohio 45640-0980. Please pay by check or money order. Do not mail cash.

Treasurer Hubbard encourages taxpayers to use the drop box to make payments 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The drop box is located near the main entrance of the courthouse, just to the left of the front door. Payments made using the drop box will be considered paid on time if placed in the drop box no later than 8 a.m. on Monday, July 28. Please do not place cash payments in the drop box.

Taxes can also be paid by credit card, debit card or electronic check. To pay in this manner, go to the website at www.jacksoncountyauditor.org, click on the link to pay your taxes or visit the County Treasurer office in person. Additionally, taxpayers can call the processing company 24 hours a day at 1-844-674-1100 to pay by telephone. You can also call the Jackson County Treasurer between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays at 740-286-2402 to pay by telephone. There is a convenience charge of 2.5 percent ($2 minimum) to pay by credit card or debit card. There is a flat-fee convenience charge of $1.50 to pay by electronic check. This fee is charged by the processing company that handles the transaction. Jackson County does not receive any portion of this fee.

Payments can also be made at any Jackson County branch of WesBanco Bank.

Treasurer Hubbard encourages taxpayers to mail tax payments, leave payments in the drop box, pay at the website or pay at a WesBanco Bank branch rather than pay in person at the Treasurer’s office.

“Lines will likely be very long during the last few days to pay,” said Hubbard. “We have three employees, and they will be extremely busy those last few days of tax collection.”

If you have any questions about your real estate taxes, please call the Treasurer’s office at 740-286-2402.
