Jackson area drummers — and many more across Ohio — now have a new reason to visit 110 Twin Oaks Drive in Jackson with the recent opening of Heritage Drums! Owned and operated by Taylor Stepp — a drummer, himself — his initiative began first in Columbus from an interest in buying and reselling vintage gear and quality instruments that others were selling online. Succeeding with this venture, Stepp wished to fill the need that was available in Southern Ohio and opened Heritage Drums to serve that need. On Saturday, Nov. 22, the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially welcome the business to the area. Present, in addition to friends, family and supporters of Stepp, were Jackson County Economic Development Partnership President and CEO Sam Brady, Jackson Mayor Randy Evans, several board members of the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce, Bryn Stepp from the office of Senator Jon Husted and Michael Perkins from the office of Congressman David Taylor. Bryn Stepp and Perkins both presented commendations issued by their respective offices. Taylor Stepp wished to thank both his wife, Natalie, and Shop Coordinator Daniel Adams for their unmitigated support and help in realizing this dream. “I really appreciate Jackson,” said Stepp. “I’m so happy to be a part of this community and thank you for all the support.” Pictured (from left to right) are Sam Brady, Daniel Adams, Taylor Stepp, Natalie Stepp, Ken Stepp, Bryn Stepp, Michael Perkins and Randy Evans.
