GLEN “PETE” LINTON

Glen R. “Pete” Linton, age 75, of Coalton, Ohio passed away Friday, October 31, 2025, at his home. He was born on March 20, 1950, in Coalton, Ohio to the late Adam Linton and Marjorie Myers.

Pete was a 1970 graduate of Wellston High School and retired from Wellston City Schools. He played softball and basketball and coached both baseball and basketball. Pete loved watching his kids and his grandchildren play ball. He was an avid fan, always cheering on the Wellston Rockets along with The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Cincinnati Reds.

He was also involved in the Jackson Jaycees and with Coal Township. He enjoyed going to gold shows, panning for gold. You could always find him at El Dorado Casino.

Pete is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jenny Lynn Linton; his children: Robert Linton, Jeff Linton, and Brook (Jeremy) Downard; grandchildren: Bryanna Linton, Makayla Linton, Josh (Alivia) Gilliland, Tristen Denney, Rylan Downard, Trinity Linton, and Braxton Linton; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special nephews: JR (Amanda) Lucas and Chris (Tammy) Linton. Besides his parents, Pete was preceded in death by siblings: Leslie Madden and Dave Linton.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson with a service immediately following at 3 p.m.; Pastor Andy Rawlins will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Garden in Coalton. There will be a dinner following the service at High Praise Ministries, 148 Water Street, Jackson, OH 45640.
