Every year, Fluor-BWXT Portsmouth (FBP) employees host fundraisers to support charitable agencies within the four-county area. During the Employee Giving Campaign (EGC), employees had opportunities to decide which county to support with their donations. In November, FBP representatives provided more than $8,000 in donations to the United Fund of Jackson County.

Funds from the campaign are donated to charitable organizations in Jackson, Pike, Ross and Scioto counties.

FBP President and CEO Greg Wilkett is a long-time Southern Ohio resident.

“We have a great group of employees who work hard to make a difference in their communities,” Wilkett said. “We are pleased to be able to continue supporting organizations like the United Fund of Jackson County so they can distribute the resources where they are needed most.”

Fundraisers held during the EGC this year included a murder mystery dinner theater, themed fundraiser baskets that were raffled, a golf outing and donations by payroll deduction.

United Fund of Jackson County President Dean Clark accepted the $8,664.17 check to support local organizations. Clark said they distributed more than $73,000 to local organizations last year.

Some of the agencies the United Fund of Jackson County supports include the American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Community Assault Prevention Services (CAPS), Jackson County YMCA, Recreation Commission of the Oak Hill Booster Club, Oaks United, Inc., Serenity House and Oak Hill Food Pantry.
