
DELLOS VICKERS
Dellos B. Vickers, age 92, of Wellston passed away Monday, September 15, 2025, at his home. He was born April 15, 1933, in Wellston, Ohio, son of the late Dellos B. Vickers and Bessie Cooper Vickers.
Dellos graduated from Wellston High School with the class of 1951. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and member of the Ohio Operating Engineers. Dellos loved to dance and was known as a “dancing machine.” He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and going on family vacations to the beach. Dellos was an excellent cook who enjoyed cooking beans and fried potatoes for others. He was a member of Black Diamond Lodge #538 F&AM, Shiloh Shrine Club, Eagles Lodge, and was the historian for the Sons of the American Legion Post 371 in Wellston.
Dellos is survived by his children: Wayne Vickers (Cindy), Bob Vickers (Carolyn), Trent Vickers, Greg Vickers, Christina Bado (Michael), Todd Vickers (Cheryl), and Amy Vickers (Doug); sisters: Janie Compston and Kay Loudner; along with 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and close friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Vickers, in 2002; son, Mark “Boo” Vickers; great-grandson, Rogan Vickers; and siblings: Faye Ayers, Prell Vickers, Harold Vickers, Joan Gibson, and Roger Vickers.
Calling hours will be Friday, September 19, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. In keeping with Dellos’ request, cremation will follow the calling hours. Private burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions in Dellos’ memory be given to the Sons of the American Legion, 1001 South Pennsylvania Avenue, Wellston, Ohio 45692.
