Earlier this spring, Holzer Medical Center and the Jackson Police Department received handcrafted donations made by women of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

At a recent women’s conference in Reynoldsburg, over 140 women ages 12 and up met to work on several service projects to be donated to multiple charities from Central and South-Central Ohio. On Friday April 2, local church leaders, Jason Cruse, Jackson Branch President of the church, and Beverly Williams, Jackson Branch Relief Society President, met to deliver the donations to Holzer Medical Center and Jackson Police Department.

As part of this charitable service project, Holzer Health System also received a gift of Cabbage Patch-style dolls from the hardworking women of the church. Pictured (from left to right) are Lori Cremeans, Beverly Williams, Latricia Booth, Marguerite Nedreberg and Jason Cruse.

Lori Cremeans, Vice President of Hospital Operations for Holzer Medical Center, was pleased to receive Cabbage Patch-like dolls that she said will be shared with children in the emergency department and dementia patients. Officer Bob Grimes, dispatcher at the Jackson Police Department, shared that the donated fleece blankets would be placed in the cruisers in the event of an emergency for those who may need comfort.

Service is a key tenet of the Church of Jesus Christ, as it exemplifies the desire to be like Jesus. These women believe in the importance of serving communities and lifting those in need.
