After 152 years, Confederate war dead finally memorialized

An oversight of more than 150 years was finally righted when a granite monument honoring the Confederate soldiers who died in the Battle of Berlin Heights was unveiled and dedicated Saturday afternoon, May 16 at Salem Cemetery.

A contingent of local organizers, historical leaders, and distinguished visitors participated in the 2 p.m. dedication ceremony, which was held at the large rural cemetery on Salem Road in Milton Township.
