Bristol Davis

A 4-H’er who enjoys learning more about her animals and hanging out with friends during fair week claimed some ribbons this year.

Bristol Davis, 12, along with her goats named “Whitey and Browney” appeared in the Joe Morgan Memorial Livestock Arena at the Jackson County Fair on Tuesday, July 18. This was her second year showing animals. Last year, she also showed goats, but didn’t get lucky enough to place.

She explained to The Telegram that she chose goats again for her project because she thinks goats have a personality and are best to work with. She belongs to the Ridge Runners 4-H Club. Davis will be going into the seventh grade at Jackson Middle School.

This year, she showed a market goat and a breeding goat. In the market goat show, Davis placed fifth and ninth in her show classes. She placed first in the market breeding goat show for crossbreed doe, over one year and under three years.

Her favorite part of 4-H is learning more about her animals. Davis said that during fair week she likes hanging out with her friends.

The Telegram asked what kind of fair food she liked the most, and she answered a taco in bag.
