LUCASVILLE – It didn’t start well for the Oak Hill Oaks and only got worse against Portsmouth West on Saturday.

180 new COVID-19 cases and two deaths reported by Jackson County Health Department



Although the number of active COVID-19 cases is slowly decreasing, the effects of the virus have proved to be no less grim. Since the Jackson County Health Department released its last COVID-19 statistical update on Sunday, Oct. 10, the virus has claimed the lives of two more Jackson County residents.

‘Oaktoberfest’ Canceled Saturday, Oct. 23 at Oak Hill High School



The “Oaktoberfest” fundraiser event that had been scheduled for this Saturday, Oct. 23, at Oak Hill High School has been canceled. The event, which was to have included a $5,000 raffle, a cornhole tournament, a chili cookoff, live entertainment and more, will not be rescheduled, according to Oak Hill High School head football coach Paul Carver. Proceeds would have benefited the Oak Hill High School football program.
