The Wellston City Council has announced that there will be a Public Service Committee Meeting this Thursday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers. The topics of discussion will include food trucks and flea markets.

There will be a public hearing before Jackson City Council on Monday, Nov. 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Council Chambers on Portsmouth Street in Jackson.
Republican Central Committee to fill Wellston City Council vacancy
Chairman Justin Lovett of the Central Committee of the Jackson County Republican Party has scheduled a meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. for the purpose of filling a vacancy in public office. The vacancy resulted when Republican Wayne Cosper resigned as a member of Council (Ward 2) for the City of Wellston.
Planning Commission approves rezoning for new group home site
The plan of Buckeye Community Services (BCS) to build a new group home on vacant property at 265 Pearl St. in Jackson cleared another hurdle when the Jackson City Planning Commission voted unanimously on Monday evening, Oct. 4, to approve a request to rezone the two involved parcels.
