Both the driver and the iconic statue of Harvey Wells on Monument Square were basically unscathed as the result of a one-car wreck which occurred at 11:02 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, in downtown Wellston.
Three-vehicle crash at SR 32/Mayhew Road
All three drivers escaped with only minor injuries in a three-vehicle crash which occurred at 8:50 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, at the intersection of State Route 32 and Mayhew Road just south of Jackson.

BULLETIN: Vinton County Sheriff’s Office investigating discovery of dead body
The Vinton County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that it is currently investigating the discovery of a dead body, which was found Tuesday in a wooded area on private property off Curry Road, which is west of McArthur. There was no immediate identification of the body. No other information is being released at this time.
