Jackson Farmers Market to return for summer, beginning Saturday, June 26
The Jackson Farmers Market is set to begin Saturday, June 26, across from Eddie Jones Park on Harding Avenue in Jackson. It will be open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will continue until October. All local farmers from Jackson County are welcome to participate. There is no set-up fee, but only locally grown, agriculture-related products are allowed to be sold.

Mosquito spraying to be conducted in Milton Township on Thursday, June 17
Ohio Pest Control, in conjunction with Milton Township, will be conducting mosquito spraying on Thursday, June 17 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. If inclement weather prevents the spraying, then it will be done the following Thursday, June 24, at the same time.
INPEA urges public to wear purple for World Elder Abuse Awareness Day
World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) was launched by the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (INPEA) and the World Health Organization at the United Nations. The purpose of WEAAD is to deliver an opportunity for communities around the world to promote a better understanding of abuse and neglect of older persons by increasing awareness of the cultural, social, economic, and demographic processes affecting elder abuse and neglect.
American Legion #371 to host Flag Day ceremony at Wellston Post
American Legion #371 of Wellston will be conducting a Flag Day ceremony on Monday, June 14 at 7 p.m. The public is welcome to attend. The Boys Scouts and Girl Scouts will be participating in this ceremony along with the Post Commander, Robin Johnson, as well as their officers and honor guard.
