The 2nd Annual Christmas Decorating Competition, sponsored by the Jackson Area YMCA, will be held once again this year. The contest was started by the staff in 2019 to encourage the Christmas spirit in Jackson County.

Christmas Parade to have Santa, Mickey and Minnie
Lisa Gilliland selected as Grand MarshalOrganizers of this Saturday’s Christmas Parade in McArthur have announced some additional details about the event.
The parade, which is being organized by McArthur resident Randy Yates and other volunteers from the Vinton County Cancer Support Group, is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. from the old high school property on High Street in McArthur. Those wishing to participate should be present to line up at 3:30 p.m.
