W4C offers support for families of overdose victims as well as help for anyone struggling with or impacted by addiction,” a spokesman said.
The Wellston City School District officials announced Friday afternoon, Nov. 13, that Wellston High School will temporarily suspend in-person instruction and proceed with virtual learning beginning Monday, Nov. 16, and continuing through the Thanksgiving holiday break. The plan is for in-person instruction to resume at the high school on Tuesday, Dec. 1.

The Sylvester Memorial Wellston Public Library is pleased to announce it has received a $2,702 grant from the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio. These funds will support the “I’m a Child of Appalachia Foundation for Appalachian Ohio Library Hotspot Lending Expansion.”
Superintendent of Jackson City Schools, Phil Howard, has issued the following statement regarding the district’s winter-weather procedures:
“As the winter months approach, Jackson City Schools’ want to take this opportunity to advise parents of arrangements for dealing with inclement weather. Weather conditions sometimes dictate that decisions be made and communicated quickly by school personnel. We are acutely aware that parents may be required to make hasty arrangements as a result of our actions.
The Oak Hill Area Chamber of Commerce is currently selling its used commercial/heavy-duty Christmas lights (pole mounts not included). They have been rewired with new plugs so they all work, and they cost $40 each.
Due to COVID-19, a full Veterans Day Program was not conducted as usual on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Jackson County Veterans Memorial Park in downtown Jackson. In lieu of a full program, Jackson County Veterans Service Officer Arnold Tripp and representatives of every local veterans’ organization gathered at the Veterans Memorial Park for a brief ceremony Wednesday morning at the customary 11 a.m. starting time.
