For the second time in less than a week, the COVID-19 pandemic and threat has prompted the cancellation of yet another major event in Jackson County — this time, the Ohio Hill Country Festival in Wellston.

Jackson County Fair overcomes COVID-related challenges

The cornonavirus certainly had a negative impact on the 2020 Jackson County Fair, but two of its signature and finale events — the Junior Fair Livestock Sale and the Brent Jenkins Memorial Demolition Derby — provided for a successful conclusion to the 2020 edition.

Markay’s virtual high school art exhibit showcases local-youth talent, creativity



The Southern Hills Arts Council (SHAC) has just wrapped up the 2020 High School Art Show — the virtual edition. This year’s event was not displayed in the Markay Cultural Arts Center Gallery, but instead showcased on the SHAC and Markay Facebook pages.
