COVID-19 Update: Public Awareness Campaigns, Fireworks, Criminal Justice Grants

Wellston Library Board of Trustees to meet June 26

The Sylvester Memorial Wellston Public Library Board of Trustees will convene for a special board meeting on Friday, June 26 at 5:15 p.m.

Recycling bin locations changing in Jackson

The Gallia-Jackson-Meigs-Vinton Solid Waste Management District has announced the drop-off recycling bins serving the City of Jackson on Harding Avenue will no longer be available after Wednesday, June 24. 

Coalton Council approves next step in levy-placement process

Having requested certificates of estimated tax revenue for the Village of Coalton’s Parks and Recreation and Cemetery levies during the May 18 Coalton Village Council meeting, council members recently approved the next step in the process of placing the issues on General Election ballots this November, after both levies failed during the 2020 Primary Election.

Common Pleas Court Trial for June 25 canceled; jurors need not report

The Jackson County Common Pleas Court announces that a jury trial, which had been scheduled to start on Thursday, June 25, has been canceled. Consequently, all prospective jurors who had been notified to report for possible jury duty on that day need not do so.

Sites throughout Ohio located in underserved areas open to anyone

A COVID-19 pop-up testing site will be available in Portsmouth on Wednesday, June 24. Anyone can get a no-cost test at this location. No appointment is needed; anyone can walk-in on the scheduled day. A health care provider’s referral is not needed.
