Fortress Obetz to host OHSAA Cross Country Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio High School Athletic Association cross country state championships are moving to Fortress Obetz, a 50-acre multi-purpose sports complex with a 6,500-seat grandstand located in Obetz on the southeast side of Columbus, OHSAA Executive Director Jerry Snodgrass announced Wednesday.

2020 JHS Alumni activities canceled



For the first time in modern history, the Jackson High School (JHS) Alumni Association has canceled its annual Alumni activities, which had been scheduled this year for Saturday, May 23. The meeting was held outside the Jackson Fire Department’s DC Annex, which allowed for easier social distancing.

Fout, Cain, Griffith, Coleman claim wins in Vinton County primary election



In what may very well go down in the history books as one of the strangest elections on record, the 2020 Primary Election has come and gone. Unprecedented in its structure and timing due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, when the time came to close the polls at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night, April 28, the reporting of results that followed were a bit delayed for both Jackson and Vinton counties. This year’s contest, unlike others in the past, saw county boards of election being asked to submit only one report encompassing all unofficial results.
