Bill Hankey was a self-employed sign maker in Jackson, Ohio, who showed the world where to look with his perfectly painted directions. 
It didn’t matter if it was paper, cloth, wood, or metal, Hankey would paint precisely aligned letters or fabulously design icons on them. 

Two Jackson High School seniors with outstanding records of academic achievement and involvement in extra-curricular and community activities are being honored by the Jackson Rotary Club as its “Seniors of the Month” for December, 2019.
Abbey Munn and Emma Wiley were introduced at the Jackson Rotary Club’s weekly luncheon meeting held Tuesday, Dec. 2. They will be honored guests at each of the club’s meetings in December and both students will be given the opportunity to speak to the members at the final meeting of the month.

The Jackson City Schools held the annual District Spelling Bee recently.

Santa will be arriving at the American Legion Post 371 in Wellston on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 1 p.m. Children ages 5-12 can visit with Santa, Mrs. Claus and The Grinch till 3 p.m. 

Wellston High School student Sullivan Potter is soon graduating from the status of Boy Scout and is well on his way to earning the coveted title of Eagle Scout.
