Cultivating Our Future is inviting the public to participate in its latest civic improvement project — a Downtown Cleanup event in downtown Jackson this Saturday, May 11. Cultivating Our Future leader Barbie McCathren asks volunteers to meet at 9 a.m. to mulch trees, pull weeds and pick up trash. Participants are asked to bring work gloves and advised to wear old clothes due to mulch causing stains. Snippers and brooms would also be useful items to bring.
WFD Mother’s Day Weekend Flower Sale May 9-11
The Wellston Fire Department will be having its Annual Mother’s Day Weekend Flower sale this Thursday through Saturday, May 9-11, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. each day at the old high school lot on South Pennsylvania Avenue in Wellston. Available for sale will be hanging baskets, hanging bags, geranium porch planters, flats, and ferns. All flowers are from Marvin’s Gardens in Jackson County.
