Wellston High School (WHS) Top of the Class for 2019 has been announced – seniors Shai Brandau and Dray Anthony Remy. Wellston High School graduation commencement exercises are set for 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 24 in the high school gymnasium. A brief profile of each of the top-ranking academic honor students follows.

Christian Life Academy High School Graduation will be Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 7 p.m. Top honor graduates have been announced: Valedictorian Morgan Taylor Sexton and Salutatorian Jonathon Daniel Morgan.

Dollar General expanding to Coalton

The Village of Coalton is getting its first national retailer, as the Dollar General Corporation has started construction of a new variety discount store at the former Buckeye Community Services location on State Route 93 at 108 S. Broadway Street. The new store is slated for a late-summer opening.

Rio graduates prepare for the future

The University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College are proud to recognize the Class of 2019 as official graduates. A total of 357 students received their degrees Saturday at the 143rd Commencement Ceremony on campus. Interim President Dr. Catherine M. Clark said she is proud of the graduates’ accomplishments while at Rio and is grateful to all of the loved ones who have encouraged them throughout their studies.
