BIDWELL - It was a game to remember on Thursday night for the Wellston Lady Rockets, as they scored a season-high in points to propel them to a victory they won't soon forget.

Behind a career-high 33-points by Wellston's Sydney Mullins, the Lady Rockets easily rolled past River Valley 71-38 in a TVC Ohio Division girls' basketball game at River Valley High School.

The win was the fourth straight by Wellston, as they improved to 7-5 overall and 2-5 in TVC Ohio Division play. River Valley, still winless, falls to 0-10, 0-5.

River Valley was held to single-digits in the first three quarters. Wellston led 35-17 at halftime and outscored the Lady Raiders 36-21 in the second half for the 33-point win on 33 of 70 (47.1 percent) shooting for the game.

Wellston got scoring from eight different players, led by Mullins' 33-points, while Emily Kisor scored 10 of her career-high 15 points in the fourth quarter.

Sydney Spencer finished with six points for Wellston, while Tory Doles and Mya Bouska each had five. Ashley Compston chipped in with four points, Emma Jadrnicek had three and Megan Vickers two.

River Valley had one player in double figures - Jaden Neal with 11 points.

The Lady Rockets led 19-9 after one quarter, led by Mullins with 13 points. She added 11 points in the second, as Wellston outscored the Lady Raiders 16-8 for a 35-17 lead at the break. Mullins hit five of her seven threes in the first half.

Wellston increased its advantage to 32 points and owned a 57-25 lead heading into the final quarter. Mullins hit two 3s to lead the Lady Rockets with eight points during the quarter and Spencer made two field goals and two free throws for six points.

Kisor had five field goals for 10 points in the fourth quarter, as Wellston edged River Valley 14-13 to push the final score to 71-38.

Due to the weather, today's game at Wellston High School between the Lady Rockets and Oak Hill has been postponed. No make-up date has been determined at this time.

The Lady Rockets return to TVC Ohio Division action on Thursday against Meigs at home.
