MINFORD - Oak Hill senior Bailey Ward recorded a runner-up finish at the Southern Ohio Conference Cross Country Championships last weekend.
Ward crossed the finish line in a time of 22:24, almost a minute behind Hannah Goodman of Waverly, who won the individual title in a time of 21:29.
Last week was her personal best finish at the SOC meet, as she finished fifth in 2016 and 2015, and had a third-place finish during her freshman year in 2014.
Waverly won the team title with 22 points and a total time of 1:56.25.
Minford (66), South Webster (75), Green (119), Wheelersburg (127), Clay (133) and Valley (168) rounded out the seven team scores.
In the boys' meet, Waverly earned the sweep, as the Tigers won the team title with a score of 40 points - 27 more than Minford - which scored 67 points to finish as the runner up.
Green came in third with 112 points, Northwest (122) was fifth and Beaver Eastern (139) finished sixth.
South Webster (167), Western (171, Notre Dame (240) and Symmes Valley (250) round out the 10 team scores.
Oak Hill did not have a full team and therefore, the Oaks did not receive team points.
Senior Tate Aldridge led the Oaks with a 35th-place performance. He cross the finish line in 20:47.
Logan Hines was second for the Oaks, as he placed 45th overall in 21:35. The next two finishers for Oak Hill were Austin Dean and Ian Roush.
Dean came across the finish line 47th overall in a time of 21:48 and Roush was 52nd with a time of 22:31.
Evan Leist of Beaver Eastern won the race in a time of 16:58, and Mathew Harris (17:13) of Minford finished as the runner up.
Oak Hill will head to The University of Rio Grande for the Division II and III District Cross Country Championships, today.
The Division II boys' race will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the Division II girls' race at 11 a.m. The Division III boys' race is scheduled for 12 p.m., concluded by the Division III girls' race at 1 p.m.
