ZANESVILLE - The Division I District Championships for boys' golf concluded on Tuesday at Eagles Sticks Golf Course in Zanesville, as Jackson senior Kole Weaver along with junior Aiden Massie's bid to the state golf tournament ended.
Weaver concluded his high school golf career Tuesday, finishing at 10-over par (39-41 80) for a 13th-place finish in the 42-player field, while Massie finished in 33rd-place after shooting 22-over (49-43 92).
"Kole struck the ball well but could never get his putter going," said Jackson head coach Kevin Bowman. "He played a solid four-over on the front nine with one double bogey and six-over on the back just missing a few putts.
"Aidan struggled on a few holes early in the round but came back and played solid on the back. All in all, a successful season for the Ironmen."
Only one team, as well as one individual not on the qualifying team advance to the state tournament next week.
Zanesville, who won the district title with an overall score of 317 qualified for the OHSAA state tournament as a team and Gage Herb of Marietta (35-38 73) earned the individual berth.
