TRACK: Ironmen finish second in SEOAL Championships
Ironladies finish in third place

VINCENT - The Jackson Ironmen track and field team captured second, while the Ironladies was third on Saturday at the Southeastern Ohio Athletic League Track and Field Championships.

Logan won both the boys' and the girls' titles, as the Chieftains finished with 96 points, followed by Jackson with 40 and Warren had 39.

In the girls' meet, the Lady Chieftains finished with 76 points, closely followed by Warren with 69 points and Jackson was third with 30 points.

Jackson collected five individual titles, including three by the girls, while the boys' had two, along with two team relay titles.


Junior Blake McCoy and Chucky Morris captured individual titles in the field events for Jackson, as McCoy jumped 20-06.00 in the long jump to finish in first place, while Morris had a measured throw of 147-07 to take the discus title for the Ironmen.

McCoy also ran the second leg in the 4x200, as well as the third leg in the 4x100-meter relays to help both teams capture league championship titles. McCoy was joined by Devon Ball, Baron Griffiths and Johnny Farley in the 4x200, as they won in 1:34.90.

In the 4x100-meter relay, McCoy along with Ball, Brice Parks and Farley, winning in a time of 45.60.

McCoy also earned a third-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles in 44.10, while Ball earned second in the 200-meter dash in a time of 24.30 and captured third-place in the 100-meter dash in 11.50.


Jackson's Mika Johnson captured three individual titles, including a first-place finish in the long jump with a jump of 15-08.00.

She also captured the 100-meter dash title in a time of 13.30, while Emily Mapes (13.75) and was second and the 200-meter dash with a winning time of 27.30.

Johnson also joined Emma Wiley, Emma Stroth and Emily Brown, finishing in third-place in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:57.80.

Stroth also finished in 1:05.90 in the 400-meter dash, good enough for third, while Alex Humphreys was third in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:45.40.

In the distance races, Mazie Wechter took third in the 1600-meter run in a time of 5:52.00.
