Wellston man arrested for domestic violence

According to reports from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at approximately 4:38 p.m., a call was received from Jennifer Radcliff, owner of Arch and Eddie's in Jackson, stating she was concerned for the well-being of one of her employees who did not show up for work. Deputies then visited the State Route 327, Wellston home of Tasha Lynn Hay, age 33, to check on her well-being. Hay told officers she had been having a lot of trouble with her live-in boyfriend Joseph S. Wiseman, age 36. She stated Wiseman had recently become upset with her and began screaming at her in front of their two small children. Hay said she left to stay at a cabin at that time. Upon returning to the residence to get clothing for her children the next day, Hay said Wiseman threw a television off of a stand and smashed her cell phone. She also claimed Wiseman had held her down on a couch and at one point began slapping himself in the head. Hay stated Wiseman has threatened to shoot her several times and once blackened her eye in front of their children. Wiseman was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence.

Wellston man reports alleged debit card theft

A Wellston man recently reported an alleged theft to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office. According to reports, on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at approximately 7:57 p.m., Donald H. Britz, age 68 of State Route 788, Wellston, reported that Melissa Ann Curtis, age 33 of Mill Street, Jackson, wished to borrow his Kroger card. In borrowing that card, Britz stated that Curtis also took his debit card, which he could not locate. He also said Curtis denies having the debit card. At the time of the report, Curtis had not been questioned over the incident.


Extensive damages reported at Jackson residence

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office has reported a case of possible vandalism to a home at 331 Dogwood Drive, Jackson. According to reports, on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at approximately 4:12 p.m., John Edward McKitterick, age 49, informed officers he had arrived at the residence to find nine windows and the front storm door had been destroyed. After taking photos of the damage, the deputy also took several rocks and a broken beer bottle at the scene into evidence. These items have been sent to BCI&I for DNA testing.

Man charged for possessing Crystal Methamphetamine

A Jackson man faces a felony-level drug-related charge following an incident in Jackson in which he was found to be in possession of what was believed to be Crystal Methamphetamine. Jackson Police officers were called to the Holly Hills Apartments on Holly Hills Drive where it was reported that a man was looking in parked vehicles and he was last seen headed toward Morton Street. A short time later, officers found a man matching that description at the nearby Morton Street Laundromat. The suspect was identified as Robert S. Meeker, 34, of 609 Holly Hills Drive and he was seen throwing something in a toilet. Officers recovered an item floating in the water, which was believed to be Crystal Methamphetamine wrapped in white plastic. The substance later tested positive for Crystal Methamphetamine and Meeker reportedly admitted it was his. He was charged with a felony-level count of Possession Of Drugs as well as Disorderly Conduct By Intoxication.

Mininvan strikes parked motorcycle in Jackson

A Jackson woman was cited after the vehicle she was driving struck a parked motorcycle in Jackson. Jackson Police reported the incident occurred 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22 in front of 347 Orange St. when a minivan driven by Melisa Reynolds 36, of 45 Westlawn Ave., Jackson, struck a parked and unoccupied motorcycle owned by Justin Macmaster of Keystone Station Road, Jackson. The motorcycle sustained disabling damages and damages were moderate to the minivan. Police charged Reynolds with Failure To Control.
