One-year anniversary for Rhoden murders

The 22nd of this month marks one year since the murder of eight Pike County residents, a crime which has yet to be solved. In fact, a year's time has yet to produce any arrests or a clear motive, though there has been some speculation on the latter.

On April 22, 2016, Christopher Rhoden, Sr., his former wife Dana Manley Rhoden; and their three children, Clarence "Frankie" Rhoden, Hanna Rhoden and Chris Rhoden, Jr.; Christopher Rhoden's elder brother, Kenneth, and their cousin, Gary Rhoden, were all found shot execution-style in their trailers. Also killed was Clarence "Frankie" Rhoden's fiancee, Hannah Hazel Gilley.

Following the murders, investigators were able to find a Marijuana-growing operation on two of the properties, but this fact has not been directly pointed to as a motive by police.

Just ahead of the one-year anniversary of these slayings, Pike County Sheriff Charlie Reader and Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine held a joint press conference Thursday in Columbus. Though there was not much more light shed upon the situation during this press conference, Sheriff Reader did say investigators are getting closer to solving these murders, but that additional information from the people of Pike County would be helpful in doing so.

There is also still currently a $10,000 reward for anyone who may be able to help investigators, and additional money is being asked of area businesses and individuals to increase this incentive.
