Deputies charge man with OVI, Failure To Control

Jackson County Sheriff Tedd Frazier reports that a local man was charged with two citations after deputies responded to the report of a vehicle being stuck in a field off Jackson Hill Road at 5:14 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3. Deputies responded to a location near 2207 Jackson Hill Road, Wellston, where they found two males and two vehicles, where one of the vehicles had just been pulled from a ditch. One of the males, later identified as Daniel R. McMahon, 36, of 384 Jackson Hill Road, Wellston, admitted he had driven his car into the ditch. Deputies noted there was a strong odor of alcohol from McMahon's person and that his speech was slurred. He was arrested and charged with Operating A Vehicle While Impaired and Failure To Control and he was held for eight hours at the Jackson County Correctional Facility.
