A 1980 graduate of Wellston High School will be honored this year at the 127th Annual Wellston Alumni banquet. The Wellston City Schools, in partnership with the Wellston High School Alumni Association, has announced the name of the recipient of the 2017 "Wall of Achievement" Award.

This Markay star is God's
Come next Sunday, there will be 12 new bronze stars encased in the sidewalk front entrance of the Markay Cultural Arts Center in downtown Jackson. Eleven of the stars are dedicated in honor of people who are or were notable Markay donors or supporters, but one star will be dedicated to another important being -- God.

Plan now for 5th Annual Kiwanis Golf Outing, slated for June 10
The 5th Annual Jackson Area Kiwanis Golf Outing, with a four-person scramble format, is set for Saturday, June 10 at the Franklin Valley Golf Course, Jackson. Cost is $240 per team, or $60 per player. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with a shot-gun start at 8:30 a.m. The number of teams will be limited to the first 18 teams to register with full payment.
