The 2018 Jackson County Fair is nearing and the youngest royalty members of them all were selected in the Jackson County Fair Little Miss and Mister Pageants held Friday evening, June 1 at the Jackson County Extension Office. The contest is open to boys and girls in kindergarten through the second grade.

The highlight of the evening was the selection of Little Queen McKayla Davidson and Little Mister Jonah Armstrong. The other Little Miss contestants were Addyson Dailey, Marijane Barnett, Amaya Jenkins, and Lily Swartz.

The contest was emceed by former Fair Queen Jessica Taylor. She is a graduate of Oak Hill High School, The Ohio State University, and was the Jackson County Fair first attendant for the 2012 Jackson County Fair.

The 2017 Little Fair Queen Katie Ross and Little Mister Sam Gentry gave their farewell speeches Friday night and thanked their respective courts, families and the Fair Board.

The new Little Miss and Little Mister and the other royalty members will be officially crowned on the opening night of the fair on Sunday, July 15 as part of the Opening Ceremonies. The queen, two senior attendants and three other younger grade-level attendants were selected at a separate contest held Saturday evening, June 3, also held at the Jackson County Extension Office.

The Jackson County Fair, set for July 13-22 at the fairgrounds in Wellston, will be packed this year with both senior-fair and junior-fair activities which should appeal to persons of all ages.
