Apple City Players to present 'Drinking Habits' on Markay stage June 16, 17
On Saturday June 16 at 7:30 p.m., Apple City players will bring to the Markay stage their rendition of the play, Drinking Habits by Tom Smith. There will also be a matinee performance Sunday, June 17, at 2 p.m. Drinking Habits is a zany comedy where accusations, mistaken identities, and romances run wild. Two nuns at the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing have been secretly making wine to keep the convent's doors open, but Paul and Sally, reporters and former fiancees, are hot on their trail. Ladies' Prayer Tea at First Presbyterian Church June 20
The monthly Ladies' Prayer Tea will be held Wednesday, June 20 at the First Presbyterian Church (next to the apple water tower) beginning at 9:30 a.m. with food and fellowship. Andrea Williams will be the guest speaker and there will be a time for sharing joys and concerns and a time of prayer. All ladies are invited to attend.
"Art Camp" at Markay for 5th-thru-8th-Graders June 25-28
Southern Hills Arts Council will present "Art Camp" June 25-28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (bring a packed lunch), at the Markay Cultural Arts Center in downtown Jackson. This is for kids who have completed 5th through 8th grades. "Unleash your child's imagination this summer at Art Camp, a wonderful introduction to several forms of visual art," a spokesman invites.
