JHS Class of 1956 to Hold 62nd Reunion Dinner May 25

All Jackson High School Class of 1956 classmates are invited to attend the group's 62nd Reunion Dinner at the Ponderosa Restaurant in Jackson on Friday, May 25, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The price is $7.25 per person. Summer Feeding Kickoff Party at Manpower Park June 1

Summer is here, and it's time for the Summer Feeding Kickoff Party at Manpower Park Shelter House in Jackson, Friday, June 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. "There will be free food, fun and giveaways; eat popsicles, run through the sprinkler, catch lightning bugs, grill out, drink lemonade, and join us for a summer bash!" a spokesman invites. Rocking Reggie will make a special appearance. The event is sponsored by COAD/RSVP of the Ohio Valley.

Jackson Presbyterian Church "Friday Feasts" May 25 & June 8

A "Friday Feast" at the Presbyterian Church of Jackson, located at 225 Church St. (across from Apple Tower), will be held on Friday, May 25 and Friday, June 8, with serving from 5:30 to 7 p.m. (or until food runs out). The Friday Feasts are held regularly on the second Friday of each month and the last Friday of each month. The menu varies each time; volunteers cook a combination of traditional, home-style foods and creative culinary experiences. "Come join us for food and fellowship; all are welcome," a spokesman invites.

WFD Danny Holtz Memorial Pancake Breakfast May 26

The Wellston Fire Department Danny Holtz Memorial Pancake Breakfast will be held Saturday, May 26 from 8 to 11 a.m. at Wellston Fire Station 2, 110 West Second St. (formerly MedFlight). The cost is $5 for all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage and drink. For more information, call 740-384-2128. Delivery will be available within the city limits.

Revival Services at Oak Hill Freewill Baptist Church May 23-26

A revival will continue May 23 through May 26, at the Oak Hill Freewill Baptist Church, beginning at 7 p.m. with preaching by Corey Carroll. Singers will be: Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Covered By Love. The church is located across from C. M. Cemetery in oak Hill. All are welcome.

Glen Roy Freewill Baptist Clothing Giveaway & Cookout May 26

Glen Roy Freewill Baptist Church will be having a free clothing giveaway on Saturday, May 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with free refreshments. The church will also be having a cookout Saturday evening starting at 6 p.m. with free hot dogs, hamburgers and pop. Everyone is welcome to join in for food, fun and fellowship; Pastor Eric Jenkins and congregation welcome all.

Wilkesville Wilton Alumni Banquet set for May 26

The Wilkesville Wilton Alumni Banquet will be held Saturday May 26 at the Wilkesville Community Center. Doors open at 4 p.m.; potluck dinner served at 5 p.m. (fee per meal, $5). All graduates and all former students of these two schools are invited to attend. The Vinton Rural graduates are also cordially invited to attend this event.

Herds of Hope First Golf Outing at Dogwood Hills June 23

The Herds of Hope organization will hold its first golf outing (to be an annual event) on June 23 at 6 p.m. - a four-man scramble format - at Dogwood Hills Golf course, 1193 Debord Rd., Chillicothe. The fee is $260 for a foursome; shot-gun start is at 6 p.m.; limit of 18 teams. Payout is determined by number of teams registered. Fee includes 2 golf carts and cookout-style food at the turn, along with door prizes. Make all checks payable to: Herds of Hope. Jackson High School Class of 1953 Reunion May 26

On Saturday, May 26, the Jackson High School Class of 1953 Reunion will be held from 1 to 4:30 p.m. The class will go to the Middle School (the group's old high school) for the 5:30 p.m. Jackson High School Alumni Program. From 8 to 11 p.m., some class members will attend the Jackson High School Alumni Happening in the Back Room of The Elks on Main Street. The afternoon reunion and the Alumni Program are free. The Happening tickets are on sale now for $20 each. Tickets at the door at The Elks will be $25 each. If anyone knows a relative or friend who did not receive their letter, please have them call Juanita Farrar Clark at 740-286-8408 or Louise McGoon Farrar at 740-577-7018.

6th Annual Jackson Area Kiwanis Golf Outing June 16

The 6th Annual Jackson Area Kiwanis Golf Outing, held in memory of co-founder Jim Gilliland, will be held Saturday, June 23 at the Franklin Valley Golf Course in Jackson. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with a shot-gun start at 8:30 a.m. The number of teams will be limited to the first 18 teams to register with full payment. The cost is $240 per team ($60 per player), and includes 18 holes of golf, riding cart, green fees and lunch. Two Mulligans and one Skirt will be available for sale as a package at $30 per player, $120 per team. If you choose you can register the entire team for a combined package price of $280. Registration deadline is June 16, 2018. Please limit team to a team to a total handicap minimum of 36; no maximum handicap. A cash prize will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams. The final cash prizes will total $550 - $1,100, depending on the total teams entered. In addition, a Grand Door Prize, and various Skill Prizes will be awarded.
