1/9/2018 2:56:00 PM Sportsman Federation Banquet set for Jan. 27
The Jackson County Sportsman Federation would like to invite the public to their annual banquet on Saturday, Jan. 27, beginning at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. The event is to be held at Canter's Cave 4-H Camp. Tickets cost $15 each and this includes dinner and a chance to win a muzzleloader or $100 cash. Other chance tickets will be sold at the banquet for many other items.
"This is a great opportunity for area sportsmen to support Jackson County wildlife issues and youth projects," a spokesman noted. "One such youth project this past year was the awarding of our annual college scholarships which went to Alexandria Humphreys ($1,000) and Troy Moore ($500). The requirement to be considered for the scholarship is the completion of an essay describing a hunting, trapping, or other wildlife outdoor experience and a copy of the applicants hunting or fishing license, or hunter education card. Congratulations to Alexandria and Troy for winning this past year!"
The spokesman added, "If you would like to attend and purchase tickets to the banquet this Jan. 27, or need further information about the scholarship for 2018, our other youth projects or the Jackson County Sportsman Federation, please call 286-6961 or 395-7008."
