Time is ALWAYS of the essence, especially during the holiday season. Sometimes getting a haircut is the last thing on someone's mind, and when that realization strikes, there is usually very little time to allot for such a luxury. There is no time to sit around and wait hours for an appointment, let alone days to weeks.
Staff members at Great Clips, located at 1018 E. Main St., Jackson, in the McCarty Crossing shopping center pride themselves on making it easy for customers to get a great haircut at a time and place that's convenient for them. With the Online Check-In Service, Clip Notes, and Haircut Reminders, Great Clips has easily become the world's largest salon brand with more than 4,200 locations in the United States and Canada.
"Great Clips cares more about you," recites Great Clips manager Nikki Moore, whose sense of pride in the salon is evident. A stylist for 10 years, a graduate of Buckeye Hills, and a resident of Ray, Moore has been with the McCarty Crossing location since the store opened in July of 2015. She felt she was always destined to work in the cosmetology field with the inspiration coming from an aunt. Nikki says the shop currently has seven employees, with over 45 years' experience accumulated in the cosmetology field.
Most of these women started their craft as children butchering their Barbies. Rebecca Walker happens to be one of them, loves her job, but says working at Great Clips doesn't feel like a job. Walker is a Buckeye Hills alumna as well, and hails from Oak Hill. Janet Babcock, of Piketon, was a former Mill's Pride employee for 10 years. When the factory shut its doors, Babcock decided she would follow the passion she's always had for hair. Holly Mattox, of Pt. Pleasant, W. Va., is the freshest face at Great Clips in Jackson. As a recent Buckeye Hills graduate, Mattox has made the McCarty Crossing location her first place of employment.
No time to wait? No problem. The Online Check-In Service provides customers with the convenience of checking into Great Clips before even getting in their car. This feature is available at www.greatclips.com.
or by downloading the app. The app is a great tool that not only provides check-ins with ease, but also notifies users of sales and haircut reminders to keep Jackson Countians looking their freshest.
Don't remember the size of the guard from the last cut? No problem. Clip Notes are taken for each customer and are easily accessible for each stylist. With 40 to 50 customers daily, Great Clips has done a fantastic job utilizing technologies to keep up with today's fast-paced lifestyle.
A great stocking stuffer, gift cards are available and can be loaded with as many $9.99 cuts as the purchaser wishes. This is a great deal, considering cuts are normally $14. A wide variety of products are available for purchase, including Grit (men's line product), firm hold gels, and disguising taffy. To ring in the holidays, Great Clips is slashing prices on their product gift sets by 25 to 40 percent.
Great Clips also caters to events such as wedding parties and high school formals and groups can be accommodated by online check-in or by calling the store at (740) 577-9145. Customers are invited to come look their best Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Manager Moore reminds everyone to check the bottom of the receipts for great deals on their next cuts, bring military IDs for veterans' discounts, and she invites seniors to come every Tuesday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. for $9.99 haircuts.
