American Electric Power (AEP) Ohio has awarded a $5,000 Ohio Growth Fund grant to the Jackson County Economic Development Partnership (JCEDP) for use with the Wellston Main Street group's 'Paint the Town' project.
JCEDP executive director Jennifer Jacobs expressed her excitement that AEP chose to assist the Wellston group with this endeavor.
"This volunteer group continues to make improvements to downtown Wellston and AEP's $5,000 grant will go a long way in purchasing paint and materials to revitalize the business district," Jacobs stated. "We want to thank AEP Ohio for their investment and support for projects that impact economic growth in our communities."
AEP Ohio external affairs manager Jon Buck said he was proud to partner with JCEDP, and that through the Ohio Growth Fund and other grants, AEP's goal is to help the communities it serves thrive.
