Three persons face drug-related charges following a traffic stop in the village of McArthur on Tuesday, Jan. 2.
According to McArthur Police Chief Matt Kight, at approximately 5:30 p.m., police officers, after detecting a license-plate violation, made a traffic stop on West Main Street in the village, near the intersection of Market Street.
The driver, Christopher T. Crockett, 25, of South Bloomingville, was found to have a suspended driver's license. Two other passengers in the vehicle, Steve Parker, 40, of Laurelville, and Rackel Rosado, 26, of South Bloomingville, did not have valid driver's licenses.
As officers conducted the investigation of the traffic stop, which included a search of the vehicle, narcotics and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle and on the occupants. The narcotics included marijuana, methamphetamine and prescription medication. There was also a small child in the vehicle.
The three occupants were arrested and transported to the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail in Nelsonville, on drug-related charges and child endangering. Vinton County Children Services responded to the incident and placed the child with a family member pending their investigation into the matter. The case was forwarded to the Vinton County Prosecutor's Office for review.
