The McArthur Police Department has released information regarding incidents to which officers responded in the period of March 19-25.
The department advises that the information contained in this press release is for informational purposes only. The disposition of any cases has not been established and anyone cited or arrested will be considered innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.
3-19 - An officer spoke with a female at the PD about a drug-related issue involving a family member.
3-21 - An officer spoke with a female about a theft incident that occurred at the BMV. A report was taken.
3-21 - An officer spoke with a female at the PD about a missing juvenile incident. PD assisted with locating the juvenile in McArthur and turned the juvenile over to the parent.
3-21 - An officer responded to Conren Drive for a custody dispute incident. An officer spoke with both parties involved in the incident.
3-21 - An officer responded to the Vinton County Highway Garage for a domestic dispute complaint. The parties had left the scene prior to the officer's arrival. The officer spoke with one party about the incident,
3-22 - An officer responded to Vinton Avenue in reference to a subject making threats to harm himself. Officer spoke with the complaining party about the issue. The subject in question was not at the residence. Threats were made over phone.
3-22 - An officer responded to Family Dollar for a fight complaint. An officer spoke with all parties involved in the incident. During the investigation, it was discovered that one subject may have been under the influence of narcotics. Items related to the subject being under the influence were later discovered.
3-24 - An officer responded to West High Street in reference to a subject attempting to harm himself. An officer was able to locate the subject in question and was transported to local hospital for further treatment. The Vinton County Sheriff's Office assisted the officer during the incident.
3-24 - An officer responded to Xena Place for a harassment complaint. An officer spoke with the subject about the incident. It was determined to be a civil issue through the apartment complex.
3-24 - An officer responded to North Sugar Street for a dog-bite complaint. An Officer spoke with all parties involved in the incident. The incident was referred to the dog warden by law.
3-24 - An officer responded to West High Street for an assault complaint. A report was taken.
3-24 - An officer responded to East North Street for a domestic dispute complaint. A report was taken and a juvenile was taken into custody and transported to JDC by order of the Courts.
3-24 - An officer responded to the Main Express gas station for a suspicious-vehicle complaint. An officer located the vehicle and occupants in question. No criminal issues were determined.
