At 7:05 p.m. on Sunday, July 30, Jackson Police were informed of a female who appeared to be passed out inside a parked vehicle at the Main Express convenience store, located at 279 Chillicothe St. Officers identified the woman as Amy Lund, 33, of 1141 Perkins Road, Chillicothe. Police said she was in the driver's seat and although the vehicle was in the parking gear, the keys were in the ignition and the motor was running. Officers observed that her speech was slurred and that her driver's license had been suspended. She explained that she had taken too much of her medication. Police charged her with Disorderly Conduct By Intoxication and she was held in custody for six hours at the Jackson Police Station.
Two women charged after fight inside Walmart
Jackson Police officers were called to the Jackson Walmart store at 7:43 p.m. on Sunday, July 30, where a physical altercation in or near the self-checkout area involving two women had reportedly occurred. After arriving on the scene, officers identified the two women as Lori L. Denny, 38, of 14 Pleasant View Drive, Jackson, and Deana L. Smith, 42, of 863 Mulga Road, Wellston. Police received slightly differing accounts of what had happened from the two women and officers reviewed the surveillance camera video for verification. Denny was accused of initially accosting Smith and pushing her and Smith admitted punching Denny in the face. Police charged both women with Disorderly Conduct By Fighting.
Stop Sign Violation citation after wreck in Jackson
A Jackson woman was cited following a two-car wreck which occurred at 1:01 p.m. Sunday, July 30, at the intersection of State and Chestnut streets. Jackson Police report a southbound car on Chestnut Street, which was driven by Karen Orender, 56, of 161 S. High St., Jackson, failed to yield at a stop sign and struck an eastbound car on State Street, which was driven by Kerrigan Wolford, 19, of 14240 Beaver Pike, Jackson. Damages were minor to both vehicles and nobody was injured. Police cited Orender with a Stop Sign Violation.
