When Jennifer DeLong returned to her South Pennsylvania Avenue residence on July 23 about 8 p.m., she was alarmed to see the place had been burglarized.
She immediately called police who responded and swept the home to insure no intruder(s) remained inside.
Police found that entry had been made through the basement door which had been forced open and the motion lights unscrewed.
Several areas of the home had been ransacked, police reported.
The large-screen TV was found sitting in the middle of the living room floor. While that item had not been taken, thousands of dollars worth of belongings had been stolen.
Among the electronics stolen were laptops, printer, digital and video cameras, DVD player, and a collection of DVDs.
A jewelry box was stolen along with more than $5,000 worth of jewelry. A substantial sum of cash was stolen. There were also many tools and several gaming items stolen.
